Sketch to 3D: characters and vehicles

From notebook sketches to a rendered character, a turnaround sheet, separate armor pieces and 3D models, and a LENS sand yacht from hand sketch to a game-ready 3D model.

How it works

  1. 1

    Sketch

Pre-sketches and a final drawing, by hand.

  2. 2

    Render the character

Mirva renders the sketch as a finished character, true to the design.

  3. 3

    Turnaround

A front, side and back view from the render.

  4. 4

    Separate the pieces

Every element — helmet, gauntlets, chest plate, belt, sword — as its own image.

  5. 5

    Make them 3D

Each piece becomes a 3D object; the details are tweaked by hand in a 3D program.

The separated pieces: 16 parts of one knight

Every piece Mirva separated from the finished design, each on its own and in the same materials, ready to become a 3D model of its own.
